What we collect, and why.

What we collect

If you join the waitlist: your email address, and your kid's age range if you pick one.

If you request a pilot kit: your name, email and phone number. For each child: age, height, weight, current jacket size, and optionally inseam and colour preference. Your street address, city and ZIP code. How you heard about us. We do not ask for your children's names, and you do not need to send them.

If you write to us through the contact form: your name, your email, and whatever you put in the message.

If you use the chat assistant: what you type, and the short summary it writes for us, which can include how many kids you have, their ages, how often you ski, your town, and whether you want a call.

On every visit, automatically: the page you landed on, the site that sent you, any campaign tag in the link, and a random session number so we can tell one person visiting ten times from ten people visiting once. No name is attached to it. We do not use cookies, and there are no advertising trackers on this site. The session number sits in your browser's local storage and you can clear it whenever you like.

Why we collect it

To get the right size to the right door. To email you when reservations open. To answer what you ask us. To count how many people come to the site and where they came from. We are a student venture trying to learn what parents actually need, and the answers shape what we buy and build.

We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Your children's information

Age, height, weight and jacket size are there for one reason: so the gear fits. We do not ask for children's names or photos, and we do not use those numbers for anything except sizing and working out how many of each size to buy.

This site is written for parents. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child. If you think a child has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.

We use AI, and this is where

The "Questions? Ask us" chat is an automated assistant, not a person. What you type goes to the AI service our platform runs it on, and it is stored so a founder can read it afterwards and follow up by email.

Please do not put anything sensitive in the chat. We will never ask for a card number, a bank account, an ID number or a password there, and you should never send one. No decision about you is made by AI. A person reads anything that matters.

Who else sees it

This list is short on purpose.

• Base44 hosts the site, stores our database, sends our email, and provides the AI behind the chat. Base44 also sets its own analytics session number in your browser.
• Microsoft Outlook is our team inbox, where form submissions and your emails land.
• Google Workspace holds our copy of the waitlist and our research notes, in Sheets and Drive.
• Stripe handles payment if and when you pay us. We never see or store your card number.

That is the whole list. No advertising networks, no data brokers, nobody who pays us for access to you.

How long we keep it

• Waitlist: until you ask to come off it, or until we shut down.
• Pilot and rental records: through the season, then as long as we need to keep business and tax records.
• Contact messages and chat conversations: we clear these out once they are no longer useful, and sooner if you ask.
• Visit counts: kept, with no name attached.

Getting your information back, or deleted

Email helloslopecycle@outlook.com and ask us to show you what we have, correct it, or delete it. Say "delete my information" and we will do it and write back to confirm. You do not have to give a reason and it does not cost anything. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.

Security, honestly

The site runs over HTTPS, the database is locked to the founders, and our forms are guarded against automated abuse. We are a small student team and not a bank, so the real protection we can offer is collecting as little as possible and holding it for as short a time as we can.

Changes

If we change this page we will change the date at the top, and if the change matters we will email the waitlist.
